LTC Timothy M. Jenkins graduated from basic training at Fort Knox, KY in 1999 as an Ammunition Specialist. His first assignment in the United States Army Reserves was with the 261st Ordnance Detachment in Kenova, WV.
Upon graduating from Marshall University in 2003, LTC Jenkins received his commission for active duty as a Second Lieutenant in the Chemical Corps. His first assignment was with the 83rd Chemical Battalion, Warrior Brigade at Fort Polk, LA as a Battalion S2, Chemical Reconnaissance Platoon Leader, Biological Detection Platoon Leader and HHC Executive Officer.
In 2006, MAJ Jenkins transferred to Military Intelligence Corps. MAJ Jenkins then served as an Intelligence Advisor on a Military Transition Team in Rabiyha, Iraq. After his first deployment, MAJ Jenkins was assigned to the 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, TX. There he served as the Brigade Chief of Plans and as the Squadron Intelligence Officer for the 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment. Additionally, while being assigned to 1/1 AD, he deployed as the Commander of the 511th Military Intelligence Company to Kirkuk, Iraq.
MAJ Jenkins remaining assignments include: Battalion Intelligence Observer Controller Trainer at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, CA; Battalion Executive Officer for the Cleveland Military Entrance Processing Station in Cleveland, OH; Brigade Intelligence Officer for the Area Support Group-Kuwait at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait; Intelligence Planner for the Allied Land Command NATO in Izmir, Turkey; Assistant Professor of Military Science at John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH; and Chief of Readiness Operations at the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, MD.
MAJ Jenkins has a Master of Business Administration from Kent State University, a Bachelor of Science degree from Marshall University and his professional education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, the Chemical Officer Basic Course, the Military Intelligence Officer Advance Course, the Command and General Staff College, the Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Level II Course, the Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course, and the Airborne School.
MAJ Jenkins’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with four Oak leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with two Oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon with the Bronze numeral 3 device, the Combat Action Badge, and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
LTC Jenkins is married to Yvonne Gant of Walterboro, SC. They currently reside in Henrico, VA with of their son Aiden, 13 years old.
