John is a Disabled Veteran who served 11 years in the Army before being medically discharged. During his service, he was deployed to Iraq to lead a Combat Engineer Platoon on more than 220 combat missions. The platoon found over 200 IEDs, saving countless lives. John has been awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. On the civilian side, John has spent the past two decades teaching a high school alternative program for at-risk youth, and has more than 10 years coaching and officiating wrestling.
