I served 24 years (20 Active) in the U.S. Army and AGR (Active Guard Reserve) with the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Had 3 MOS’s (13B Artillerymen (M198 Towed and M109A2 Self Propelled systems), 54B Chemical Specialist and 92Y Unit Supply Specialist) and served with 18th Airborne Corps Artillery (B Battery 3/8th Field Artillery Regiment), 40th Infantry Division (160th LRSD and 1-184th Infantry) and deployed to Afghanistan in Support of CJSOFT (KMTC in Kabul and Orgun-E in the Paktika Province) in 2002-2003 with A Co 5th Battalion 19th Special Forces Group (FOB195). I had multiple state mobilizations within California including Fires, Floods, Earthquakes and the L.A. Riots, I retired after spending the last 6 years as the S4 NCOIC with 640th Aviation Support Battalion (ASB) also part of the 40th Aviation Brigade and 40th Infantry Division.
After retiring I spent approx. 10yrs Civil Service with various Federal agencies to include the U.S. Army, U.S. Department of State (Passport Services), Indian Health Service (IHS), Veterans Administration and U.S. Border Patrol (Admin). I also spent 2 years with Union Pacific Railroad as a Conductor/Trainman/Switchmen.
I currently spend most of my time playing and coaching Senior Softball, riding wheelies on big wheel BMX bikes, fishing in local lakes and the occasional round of golf.
I currently live in Sahuarita, Arizona (Southern Arizona near Tucson), have been married to my 2nd wife (who is a current VA employee) for 19 years and have 5 awesome kids, 2 decent sons-in-law and 2 perfect grandkids.
